Food Assistance in Times of Disaster through Cooperation with Government Agencies and Local Governments

As the major business partner of the Group, SEVEN-ELEVEN JAPAN CO., LTD., has concluded comprehensive partnership agreements for regional revitalization with many local governments throughout Japan. At the same time, it engages in the promotion of local production for local consumption; food education and health betterment; support for childcare, nursing care, and assistance for disabled persons; measures and support in the event of disasters; and environmental conservation and recycling.
Warabeya Nichiyo Foods Co., Ltd., supports these efforts through the development and production of products for SEVEN-ELEVEN JAPAN CO., LTD., namely by developing products that use local ingredients and by taking action and providing assistance in the event of disasters.
In addition, we have entered into individual agreements to provide emergency supplies in the event of a disaster, for example, with multiple local governments in areas where Warabeya Nichiyo Foods Co., Ltd., plants are located. Moreover, we have established a system to cooperate with local emergency response efforts in the event of major earthquakes and other large-scale disasters.

Developing Products Using Local Ingredients

Warabeya Nichiyo Foods Co., Ltd., developed distinctive products using ingredients that were in oversupply in different regions, thereby reducing food loss, supporting producers and businesses, and further promoting local production for local consumption in these regions.
We have developed and marketed region-specific products throughout the country that take advantage of local flavors and foods. Together with local communities, we will continue to take on the challenge of realizing a sustainable society.

Individual Community Support Activities

With a focus on the regions in which the Group’s plants are located, we provide support for assistance activities that meet the actual conditions and needs of each region. For example, the Tokyo Plant (Musashimurayama, Tokyo) provides rice from the Group's business to participating families at the Single Mothers’ Support Festival organized by the Musashimurayama Center for Gender Equality.
