Positioned at the center of the Food Materials Business, Nichiyo Co., Ltd. does not limit itself to the procurement of ingredients, but instead engages in the development, processing, production, and quality control of ingredients in collaboration with partner companies.
Nichiyo is also active as a food manufacturer and trading company in Japan and abroad, and engages in the procurement of hygiene equipment and cooking utensils, as well as in the development of materials required by food processing plants in cooperation with manufacturers.

Ingredient surveys |
We begin ingredient procurement with on-site surveys, both in Japan and abroad. Specifically, we start by directly visiting farms in the case of crops and fish nurseries in the case of marine products to test the soil and water quality, and verify the use of pesticides and whether feed meets standards. |

With a focus on marine products, we procure a wide range of ingredients that also include agricultural products, livestock products, and processed goods from all over the world. We procure higher quality ingredients from all over the world, such as sockeye salmon and salmon roe from the United States, sea urchin and strawberries from Chile, and mackerel from Norway.
In order to provide safe ingredients, employees possessing specialized knowledge and skills in food-related law, inspection, and analysis regularly test the safety of ingredients. Similarly, when we begin a new series of transactions, we inspect the plants and provide advice to improve quality control.
Overseas, where it is difficult to keep track of product quality, we assign staff to the local area who serve to directly verify quality.
