As part of efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, our Group is working to reduce its CO2 emissions.

We disclose climate-related information in accordance with the recommendations of the TCFD.

Reduction Targets and Progress

Our Group has established reduction targets for greenhouse gas emissions and industrial waste generation for fiscal 2030. To achieve our targets, we are implementing a wide range of measures.

Reducing CO2 Emissions in Procurement and Development

As part of efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, we are working to reduce transportation distances (food mileage) by developing products to be made locally using locally sourced ingredients for local consumption, as well as by procuring produce from areas near our plants.

Decarbonization at Manufacturing Sites

As part of efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we are advancing energy conservation and energy creation initiatives at our plants and offices.

Energy Conservation

In terms of conserving energy, we are working to reduce consumption by improving the efficiency of our heat, electricity, and water use and restructuring our production system. At some plants, we have also introduced systems to monitor the power consumption of each facility in real time to improve operations.

Renewable Energy Generation

As for energy creation, we are focused on installing solar power generation equipment on plant rooftops.

Reducing CO2 Emissions in Logistics

We are also working to reduce CO2 emissions in our logistics operations, which play the role of transporting and delivering our products.

Building a Sustainable Logistics System

Bestrans Co., Ltd., our Group’s logistics company, is enhancing fleet management by optimizing delivery routes using ICT and promoting eco-driving practices. These efforts have resulted in reductions in CO2 emissions.

In addition, Bestrans Co., Ltd. has acquired Green Management Certification (Foundation for Promoting Personal Mobility and Ecological Transportation) at several sites and is working to build an environmentally responsible logistics system.

Adoption of Low-Emission Vehicles

As part of our decarbonization efforts, we are upgrading our vehicles to hybrid and electric vehicles. In 2024, we introduced hydrogen-powered fuel cell trucks for deliveries, which produce no CO2 emissions during operation, and began trialing them for practical use.

Office and Employee Initiatives

At our Head Office and each business site, we promote air-conditioning management through “Cool Biz” and “Warm Biz” dress code initiatives, as well as adopting paperless materials for meetings. Each employee is engaged in efforts to reduce the environmental impact of their daily work.
