Social and Community Contribution Activities

Our Group places importance on its relationships with local communities and pursues activities that connect to our business. We promote cooperation with local communities through product development that draws on local resources, support activities in the areas where we operate, initiatives involving sports, and preparations for disaster response.

We work with producers in each region to develop products made with locally grown ingredients. Creating products from local ingredients helps us maintain and strengthen our relationships with those producers.

In addition to local specialties such as heirloom vegetables, we also make products from imperfect vegetables, which taste perfectly good but cannot be sold on the open market. These efforts help us maintain relationships with producers and reduce food loss.

We develop and sell regional products that draw on ingredients and food traditions from across Japan. By developing products around the character of each area, we are extending our reach from region to region.

We provide support based on local needs, focused mainly on the communities where our plants are located.

As part of our engagement with local communities, we provide food to food bank organizations near our plants. The raw materials and seasonings we provide are all of sound quality, and they go to support local food assistance efforts.

We continue to donate books and teaching materials to special needs schools in our local communities. By supplying books chosen to match what each school needs, we help enrich the learning environment.

Since 2021, we have supported the Single Mothers Support Festa held by the city of Musashimurayama, Tokyo, where our Tokyo Plant is located. We contribute through food-related initiatives, including providing rice, one of our main ingredients, to those attending.

Our Group uses sports to deepen our ties with local communities and to build a sense of unity among employees.

We support sports in local communities through activities such as hosting the Warabeya Cup youth baseball tournament. We have also donated equipment to the girls’ baseball team at Kuriyama High School in Kuriyama, Hokkaido.

We founded a track and field team in 2017 and employ competitive athletes as members of staff. We also have a sponsorship agreement with a professional women’s golfer. Employees come together to cheer them on, which strengthens our sense of unity while contributing to the promotion of sports.

As a business that handles food, our Group has a role to play in supporting the infrastructure of daily life in local communities by keeping food supplies flowing when a disaster strikes, while always putting the safety of our employees first. We prepare in normal times by working with outside partners and strengthening our own supply capabilities.

We take part as a supplier in the activities carried out under the comprehensive partnership agreements for regional revitalization that our principal business partner, Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd., concludes with local governments, supporting the foundations of daily life in those communities by helping to build a reliable supply system.

Our Group has concluded agreements with some of the local governments in the areas where our plants are located, covering the supply of relief goods in the event of a disaster.

We work to build cooperative arrangements with these authorities in normal times, while maintaining and monitoring our supply capacity.

When a disaster occurs, we make use of our production sites and distribution network to deliver food quickly and reliably, helping to keep local residents safe and secure and to maintain the infrastructure of daily life.
