Our Group is working to promote resource recycling by effectively utilizing resources and reducing waste. We have been cutting the amount of industrial waste generated in our business activities while optimizing the way we use resources.
Decarbonization at Manufacturing Sites
Our Group has been advancing resource recycling initiatives at its manufacturing sites.
To reduce industrial waste, we have adopted technologies that help us limit the amount of waste generated at each of our plants.
At our key plants, we have installed organic waste decomposition systems that break down residues from materials like rice, meat, noodles, and vegetable scraps into water and carbon dioxide. This has enabled us to reduce the amount of industrial waste we discharge while mitigating the environmental impact of our waste treatment operations.

At manufacturing sites, we are working to reduce waste and recycle resources.
We recycle used white garments and use them as raw materials for automotive interior materials and other applications.
Moreover, we are working to reduce our use of plastic materials and utilize resources efficiently by optimizing the size of plastic sheets and reconsidering where to use them, as well as by adopting garbage bags made from environmentally friendly materials.
Reducing Plastics in Containers and Packaging
Containers for bento meal boxes and other products are typically made of plastic. To mitigate our environmental impact, our Group is working to reduce the amount of plastic we use in containers and packaging.
To limit our use of petroleum-derived plastics, we have been using paper and other biomass-based materials while reducing the weight of our containers.
Efficient Use of Water Resources
Our Group is engaged in efforts to use water resources efficiently.
At some of our plants, we use reclaimed water for on-site watering. We are also exploring ways to use reclaimed water to clean equipment used to transport products.
Moreover, we are working to raise employee awareness and reduce water use in day-to-day operations by installing water-saving faucet attachments and conducting awareness-raising activities in line with Eco Action 21.

Supply Chain Cooperation
As a supplier, we are advancing initiatives to help achieve the goals of the Seven & i Group’s environmental declaration, GREEN CHALLENGE 2050. These efforts include expanding our use of environmentally friendly materials in containers and packaging.
